About SASTRA University
Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy, also commonly known as SASTRA University, is a private and deemed university located in Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. The university was the first-ever to get the status of a deemed university in Tamil Nadu. SASTRA was conferred deemed-to-be-university status in 2001 by the UGC. The university also has an off-campus at Kumbakonam, Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre (SRC). SASTRA University has been accredited by NAAC with an “A++” grade. The university is recognised by UGC and approved by AICTE.
SASTRA University offers a total of 12 courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels of education. SASTRA University Courses and Admissions 2025
SASTRA University courses are available at the doctorate, UG, and PG level. Courses like B.Tech, B.Sc., B.Com, M.Tech, MA, MBA, and Integrated courses are among those available for admission. Class 12th percentage/marks and JEE Main scores determine eligibility for admission to B.Tech. and Integrated M.Tech courses. However, the candidate doesn't need to have appeared for the JEE exams
It should be noted that 50% of the total seats will be filled using JEE Main scores and 10+2 scores, with the remaining 50% being filled using 10+2 scores. SASTRA University admissions for all the courses except B.Tech, Integrated M.Tech, and Integrated Law programmes are done based on the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination. Also, GATE-qualified applicants will be given preference for admission to the M.Tech programmes at SASTRA University. Candidates must take an entrance exam and then interview to be considered for admission to the PhD programme.

Infrastructure: The SASTRA University campus in Thanjavur spans a lush landscape of 300,000 square metres. It is a vibrant campus with academic and research facilities, residential blocks, a hospital, and other amenities, catering to over 13,000 students and about 1,500 faculty and staff.

SASTRA University Scholarships
SASTRA University scholarships are given to economically challenged students who require considerable financial support. Governmental and non-governmental scholarships are available. The dean's merit list and hostel scholarship are the two main categories of scholarships provided to students. The candidate must fulfil the fundamental structural requirements after enrolling in the programme in order to be eligible for SASTRA University scholarship benefits. Students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds will get financial aid with priority. Each student receives a stipend to support them in fully and effectively completing the course, regardless of their financial status. Depending on the programme's particular requirements, such criteria must be fulfilled in order to obtain financial assistance in the form of grants for different classes of society.
